Can out-of-state visitors buy cannabis in Minnesota?

Yes. Any adult 21+ with valid government-issued photo ID can purchase recreational cannabis at a licensed MN dispensary. The dispensary will check ID; out-of-state IDs are accepted. You cannot legally take the purchase home if your home is in a state that prohibits cannabis or if crossing state lines is involved.

Can I drive with cannabis from MN to Wisconsin / Iowa / North Dakota / South Dakota?

No. All four neighboring states have different cannabis laws and crossing state lines with cannabis is a federal offense — even between two legal states. Federal law (Schedule I) applies on interstate routes. MN purchases must stay in MN.

Can I bring cannabis on a flight from MSP airport?

No. TSA security agents will refer to local police if they find cannabis at the checkpoint, even if your destination is a legal state. The exception: some airports (MSP included) have implemented amnesty boxes outside security for travelers to dispose of cannabis legally. Don't carry cannabis through TSA.

Can I bring cannabis to a Brainerd Lakes cabin?

Yes, within Minnesota. Adults 21+ can possess up to 2 ounces of flower (or equivalent) in public and store up to 2 pounds at home. Cabin counts as a private residence under the storage limit. Cannabis purchased at a licensed MN dispensary can be transported in sealed packaging. Don't consume in public — that includes lakeshores, docks, and boats.

Can I consume cannabis in a Minneapolis Airbnb?

It depends on the Airbnb listing. MN law allows cannabis consumption in private residences, but Airbnb hosts can prohibit it in their listings. Check the house rules before booking. Many hosts allow vaping or edibles but prohibit smoking. Public consumption on the property (yard, balcony, etc.) is illegal regardless of host rules.

What's the cannabis possession limit in MN?

Adults 21+ can possess: up to 2 ounces of flower in public, up to 2 pounds at home, up to 8 grams of concentrate, up to 800mg of THC in edibles. Exceeding these limits is a petty misdemeanor (up to 4 oz flower) or gross misdemeanor (above 4 oz).

Can I bring cannabis from Colorado / California to Minnesota?

No. Crossing state lines with cannabis is illegal under federal law. Purchase fresh in MN when you arrive — there are 148+ licensed dispensaries across the state. Tribal dispensaries are exempt from the 15% MN excise tax for additional savings.
