Anoka Cannabis Company is one of the only city-operated cannabis dispensaries in the United States, owned and run by the City of Anoka at 839 E River Road. It sits adjacent to the city's Better Values municipal liquor store on the east side of downtown Anoka, a short drive from the intersection of Highways 10 and 47 along the Rum River corridor. Anoka's city council voted in May 2025 to enter the cannabis market directly, citing the revenue model proven by the city's decades-old municipal liquor operation. Proceeds from the dispensary support city services including parks and recreation. The store opened in early 2026 under the management of the city's Liquor Operations department. Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 9 PM, and Sunday, 11 AM to 5 PM. The location is accessible via Anoka's surface streets from Highway 10; take the E River Road exit and head east past the railroad tracks toward the river. Street parking is available along E River Road. Anoka is known as the Halloween Capital of the World and draws visitors each October for its festival, making the dispensary well-positioned to serve seasonal tourism traffic in addition to local residents. The Rum River flows through the city's central green spaces nearby, and the historic downtown sits just a few blocks west on Main Street. Anoka Cannabis Company is currently the only licensed cannabis retailer operating within the city of Anoka. Really great experience. 2nd Dispensary I went to on MN. Compare to other dispensary like other states it's very similar. There's a lot of options and variety of things you can get. Best Interior design by far.

Just by looking at the prices I'll go elsewhere. Almost double the cost of other dispensaries nearby.

The staff here is fantastic, and always incredibly helpful. They always have great flower. Well all of their products are great. I can't recommend this place enough. If you know your flower or even if you just wanna try getting a little mellow this place is a great spot to hit up.

Everyone is super nice, apparently too nice. I was given the wrong product because the guy who helped me was chatting up my friend the whole time. Same friend expressed he was not purchasing anything. Maybe put more focus on the paying customer, especially since returns are not allowed. The same employee asked for a review, so here it is.

This was my first time in the store. Friendly and helpful. Was so happy to meet someone who was caring and listening. Kandace was receptive to my concerns for prices and selections. We, my wife and I, appreciated her. We are also thrilled to receive a senior discount. Loved the place and will be back. Hoping the gummies will go well. Friendly and knowledgeable staff from greeter to the budtenders and management! They are definitely working hard at getting new and better product as it becomes available in MN too. A few months back I got a preroll that was all around meh and kinda struggled to stay lit but this past weekend they had a lovely infused preroll smoked and medicated well!! Awesome glass, accessories and appeal too; got a great little bong at a great little price. Thc Prices do still sting a bit but it’s comparable to other mn dispos and you can get some great deals with the loyalty program too! Shoutout to budtender Kandace for letting me know about using my dollar preroll to discount the higher end infused one and budtender Jenny for dealing with my indecision and selling me on what turned out to be an awesome little bong!

I have been to 5 different cannabis stores in the north metro. By far this is my favorite. Prices include tax, nobody else did that, it's kind of mis leading. They have a rewards program that is incredible.
