The name "Ishkode" means "Fire" in Ojibwe, connecting the dispensary to the Bois Forte Band's rich cultural heritage. As a tribal enterprise, Ishkode operates under tribal sovereignty and does not charge Minnesota's 10% state cannabis tax.
