Home Grow Rules in Edina

Minnesota law allows adults 21 and older to grow up to 8 cannabis plants at home, with no more than 4 mature plants at any time. Plants must be in an enclosed locked space not visible from public view. Edina does not add local restrictions. Review your lease agreement before growing if you rent.

Purchase Limits (State Law)

• Up to 2 ounces of cannabis flower per transaction
• Up to 8 grams of concentrate
• Edibles: up to 800mg THC per transaction
• Public possession: up to 2 ounces; home possession: up to 2 pounds

Medical Cannabis Tax Savings

Registered Minnesota medical cannabis patients use the tax exemption at a licensed dispensary that serves medical patients by presenting an OCM patient ID. Medical patients are exempt from the 15% excise tax and 6.875% state sales tax. Register for free at mn.gov/ocm.
