Quick answer

A 4x4 tent is 16 square feet, and Minnesota's home cap is 8 plants with no more than 4 mature and flowering, whatever the tent size. A complete kit bundles tent, light, and fan. The AC Infinity PRO 4x4 and the Spider Farmer G5000 kit are the two we opened. Heat the room, not the tent.

A 4x4 grow tent kit is the indoor footprint that lines up with Minnesota's mature-plant cap. The listings we checked are 48 inches by 48 inches by 80 inches. This page is a kit checklist for adults 21 and older, including AC Infinity, Spider Farmer, and a winter section. It is not a yield forecast, and it does not sell seeds. We are not quoting prices because listings change. Open the page and read the current price, the contents list, and the return window.

Compare 4x4 grow tent kits

Product What the listing title says Footprint on the title
AC Infinity AI Grow System PRO 4x4 AI kit, LM301H EVO diodes, 2000D tent, 6 inch inline fan, clip fan, WiFi controller (ASIN B0CL18SPZM) 48 x 48 x 80 in
Spider Farmer 4x4 kit G5000 bar-style full spectrum LED, 6 inch inline fan, carbon filter, ventilation, GGS AC10 power strip (ASIN B0GLG3775B) 48 x 48 x 80 in
AC Infinity Advance Grow System 4x4 WiFi controller, LM301H diodes without EVO, 6 inch inline fan (ASIN B09WJJDFLS) 48 x 48 x 80 in
Vivosun 4x4 tent Tent only, not a full kit (ASIN B01DXYMKIO) 4x4 tent in the Hub gear note

The legal plant count is still 4 mature flowering plants for every row. Amazon is the only retailer on this page, so there is no partner ranking to apply. We did not weigh the boxes or run the lights. Forum threads rank for this query because owners argue about straps, noise, and diodes. Those threads are not a lab. Use them as a list of questions to ask the listing: door straps, filter size, whether the controller is included, and the diode generation.

How many plants should I grow in a 4x4 tent?

In Minnesota, at most 4 mature flowering plants, and 8 plants of any age, in the whole household. The tent size does not change that, even though kit listings say "4-plant." Count clones, seedlings, and a second tent toward the cap.

Minnesota Statutes section 342.09, subdivision 2 caps home cultivation at 8 plants, with no more than 4 mature and flowering, at the primary residence, in an enclosed, locked space, out of public view. The home grow guide is the full rule page: landlords can ban it, you cannot sell the harvest, and outdoor plants have to stay out of public view.

A 4x4 kit is popular because four plants have room to stand apart. Four circles on a diagram are not four legal plants if you also have clones, seedlings, or a second tent. Count every plant. The tent does not do that for you.

A 2x4 grow tent kit is half the floor: 8 square feet instead of 16. It can be the better box in an apartment. This page did not verify a specific 2x4 ASIN, so it does not link one. The legal cap does not shrink just because the tent did. You can still only flower four plants in the household, and you may not have room for four in a 2x4.

A 48 by 48 inch tent footprint with four plant positions, the household cap of 4 mature plants, and a note to keep the tent in a heated room.

Footprint: 48 inches by 48 inches is the tent size printed on the AC Infinity and Spider Farmer 4x4 kit listings checked October 20, 2026. Plant cap: Minnesota Statutes section 342.09, subdivision 2, no more than 4 mature flowering plants in the household count of 8. The light bar is the manufacturer's kit light, not a Hub light measurement.

How much can a 4x4 grow tent yield?

This page publishes no yield number, because we did not run these lights and the listings we read do not give a yield we can verify. Yield depends on the light, the genetics, and the grower. What the statute fixes is the plant cap above and, for a private residence, a possession limit of two pounds or less of adult-use cannabis flower (section 342.09, subdivision 1, read October 20, 2026). Read the statute for how that limit applies to a harvest before you plan around a weight.

How many 5 gallon pots fit in a 4x4 grow tent?

A 4x4 floor is 48 inches by 48 inches. If your 5 gallon pots measure about 12 inches across, which varies by pot, the floor fits a 4 by 4 grid, or 16 pots, with no walkway. That is floor arithmetic, not advice: Minnesota allows only 4 mature flowering plants in the household, and crowded pots block airflow and your access to the plants. Four pots with room to move is the setup that matches the cap. Measure the pot you buy. The Hub's gear list includes fabric pots on the home grow guide.

Can you grow autoflowers in a 4x4 tent?

Autoflowers still count toward the plant cap, and we found nothing in section 342.09 that exempts them. Autoflowering plants start flowering on their own age rather than a light-schedule change, so a plant can become a mature flowering plant without a 12 and 12 switch. Count them. The autoflower growing guide covers varieties and timing.

What light do you need for a 4x4 grow tent?

The kits come with the maker's light: the AC Infinity PRO listing names LM301H EVO diodes and the Spider Farmer listing names a G5000 bar-style LED. This page did not measure photosynthetic photon flux, so the listing is the manufacturer's claim. If you replace the light, measure the tent interior and the hanging height, not the room. The Hub's LED grow light comparison covers lights as their own purchase.

What is the best 4x4 grow tent complete kit?

The two complete kits we opened are the AC Infinity AI Grow System PRO 4x4 and the Spider Farmer 4x4 kit with a G5000 light, both described below. A complete kit should include the parts people otherwise forget.

  1. A 48 by 48 inch tent, tall enough to stand a light above the plants. The listings below say 80 inches.
  2. A light the maker sized for that footprint. This page did not measure photosynthetic photon flux. The listing is the manufacturer's claim.
  3. An exhaust fan and a carbon filter if the room shares air with the rest of the home.
  4. Ducting and clamps, or a clear note that you must buy them.
  5. A way to hang the light and to watch temperature.

A tent-only product can be a good tent and a bad "kit." The Vivosun 4x4 already in the Hub's gear list is a tent: Vivosun 48 by 48 tent. Use it if you are building your own exhaust and light. Do not read it as the AC Infinity or Spider Farmer bundles below.

The seed buying guide and the Minnesota seed sellers page are where seeds come from. A tent kit does not include genetics. Mail-order seed is not automatically a Minnesota seed label. Read those pages before you order genetics.

AC Infinity grow tent kit

Two AC Infinity 4x4 listings were on Amazon when this page was written.

The AC Infinity AI Grow System PRO 4x4 (ASIN B0CL18SPZM) is the current AI kit in the listing title: a 4-plant kit, WiFi, an AI controller, Samsung LM301H EVO diodes, a 2000D tent, a 6 inch inline fan, and a 6 inch clip fan. The title also says the tent is 48 by 48 by 80 inches. "4-plant" is the maker's marketing. Minnesota's cap is still 4 mature plants, not 4 plus whatever else is in the house.

The earlier AC Infinity Advance Grow System 4x4 (ASIN B09WJJDFLS) is the non-EVO listing: WiFi controller, Samsung LM301H diodes rather than LM301H EVO, the same 48 by 48 by 80 inch class of tent, and a 6 inch inline fan. If both are in stock, read the diode line. EVO and non-EVO are different lights. We are not declaring a winner. We are telling you not to treat the two ASINs as the same box.

AC Infinity's own site is not the link we use. The Hub's Amazon tag is the tracked path for these kits.

Spider Farmer grow tent kit

The Spider Farmer 4x4 kit we are linking is ASIN B0GLG3775B. The listing title says a complete kit: G5000 bar-style full spectrum LED, a 48 by 48 by 80 inch tent, a 6 inch inline fan, a carbon filter, ventilation, and a GGS AC10 power strip. That is a complete-kit title. Open the bullet list before you assume pots, shears, or a controller beyond the power strip are in the box. Title bullets and the "what's in the box" section sometimes disagree.

Spider Farmer grow tent kit searches often land on the brand site. This page sends the click through Amazon so the Hub's associate credit applies.

Best LED grow light, as its own search, is larger than one kit. A kit light is the light that came with the tent. You can outgrow it. You can also buy a light that does not fit the 48 inch bars or the hanging height. If you replace the light, measure the tent interior, not the room.

Minnesota winter

Outdoor cannabis in Minnesota is a short season. The home grow calendar is the month-by-month outdoor page. The getting started guide covers the indoor versus outdoor choice. This section is only the tent in winter.

A garage or a porch that is comfortable in July can be below what you want in January. The practical move is to run the tent inside a room the house already heats. The light and the ballast add heat. The exhaust fan throws that heat out of the tent and pulls room air in. In January that intake air is whatever the room is. If the room is cold, the tent will not invent a climate.

Do not put a space heater inside the tent. Fabric, filters, and electrical gear do not need a heater sitting on the floor beside them. If the room is too cold for the plants, heat the room, or do not run the grow until the room is fit. This page does not link a heater.

Winter air in a heated Minnesota house is often dry. The exhaust setup that was right in August can strip humidity in January. Watch a thermometer and a humidity gauge you trust. We are not printing a target range as if we measured your closet. The home grow guide is the place for the broader indoor setup, including the 18 hours on and 6 hours off pattern it describes for vegetative growth, and 12 and 12 for photoperiod flowering.

Odor still travels in winter because houses are closed up. A carbon filter is part of why the complete kits are the recommendation instead of a bare tent. An apartment lease can ban cultivation even when section 342.09 allows it. Read the lease. The home grow guide states that landlord ban in plain language.

Power is the other winter bill. A 4x4 kit light runs for many hours. We are not estimating your kilowatt-hours. Read the wattage on the light you actually buy, then look at your rate. The PRO listing and the Spider Farmer listing are different lights. Their wattage is on those pages, and it can change with a revision. Do not copy a wattage from a forum post onto a new ASIN.

Water and nutrients are not in these kits in any way we are willing to promise. The Hub's existing Amazon gear list includes fabric pots, a pH meter, and a nutrient trio on the home grow guide. Use that page for the rest of the shopping list. This page stays on the 4x4 kit.

A setup order that respects the cap

  1. Confirm you are 21 or older and the lease allows a grow.
  2. Pick a locked room that stays heated in winter and is not visible from the street.
  3. Choose one complete 4x4 kit, or a tent plus a light and filter you have actually matched.
  4. Plan for no more than 4 flowering plants in the whole residence, including plants outside the tent.
  5. Hang the light, set the exhaust, and run the tent empty for a day so you can see temperature before a plant is in it.
  6. Buy seed from a Minnesota-legal source. Start with the seed guide.

The grow store directory lists local supply shops if you would rather see a tent in person. A local shop will not change the plant cap either.

If the project stops being a tent and turns into a product question about CBD or a medical card, those are different guides: CBD oil for cats is pets, and the Leafwell review is the certification visit. A grow tent is not a medical card.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a 4x4 grow tent kit let you grow more than 4 mature plants in Minnesota?

No. Section 342.09, subdivision 2, caps the household at 8 plants and no more than 4 mature flowering plants. The tent size does not add plants. Count clones and seedlings in the 8.

Which AC Infinity 4x4 listing is the EVO kit?

ASIN B0CL18SPZM is the AI Grow System PRO listing whose title includes LM301H EVO. ASIN B09WJJDFLS is the Advance listing whose title includes LM301H without EVO. Read the live title before you buy. We did not rank them.

ASIN B0GLG3775B's title lists a G5000 bar light, a 48 by 48 by 80 inch tent, a 6 inch inline fan, a carbon filter, and a GGS AC10 power strip. Confirm the box contents on the listing. Prices are not printed here.

Where should a 4x4 tent go during a Minnesota winter?

In a heated room, not on an unheated porch, and not with a heater inside the tent. Use the home grow calendar for the outdoor season and this kit for the months you are indoors. Watch temperature and humidity in your room. This page does not assign a universal setpoint.

The listings
