Quick answer

The FDA has not approved CBD for use in animals and cannot ensure the safety of cannabis products marketed for pets, so ask your veterinarian first. A 90 mg MediPets bottle is a 30 ml CBD isolate oil at 0.15 mg per drop on its label. Diamond's weight chart is retailer copy, not a dose.

People searching for CBD for cats usually want a straight answer about safety, a dose for a 10 pound cat, and a product that will not intoxicate the animal. This page is a buying checklist for adults 21 and older in Minnesota. It is not a dose or a treatment plan.

The product links below go to Diamond CBD's MediPets cat oil and the retailer's cat collection, through the same FlexOffers path the Hub already uses for Diamond. We also link one cbdMD cat oil, a broad spectrum tincture, through the Hub's click log. We do not link Diamond THC, Delta-8, THCA, or THCP products. We do not link cbdMD full spectrum, Delta-9, THCV, or Inferno products.

Which CBD oil is best for cats?

We do not rank a best. Start with a veterinarian who has seen the cat, then compare labels. The two cat-specific oils we checked are in the table below.

Compare CBD oils and treats for cats

Product Type on its page Label facts we checked
90 mg CBD pet oil for cats (MediPets, Diamond CBD) CBD isolate oil 90 mg in 30 ml, 0.15 mg per drop, 600 drops
Cat Cafe tartar control CBD treats, 600 mg (MediPets, Diamond CBD) Treat 600 mg per 2.5 oz pouch, 200 crunchy bites per the page; no per-treat milligram figure verified
cbdMD cat oil, catnip (Paw CBD) Broad spectrum tincture 300 mg, $29.99 on October 20, 2026, suggested amount 1 mL per the seller

Row order follows what each partner pays the Hub, highest first. It is a commercial order, not a quality ranking. Nothing But Canna is not listed because the pet tincture in its catalog is full spectrum, which this page does not link. Prices move, so only the cbdMD price we checked is printed.

Will CBD oil help my cat with pain?

We are not citing a feline clinical trial that settles it, and the FDA has not approved CBD for any use in animals. Pain, arthritis, and anxiety are medical questions for a veterinarian, and a hemp oil page cannot diagnose them or promise a result.

Shoppers also type best CBD oil for cats, CBD treats for cats, CBD oil for cats dosage, and CBD for cats with arthritis. Those are real searches. They are not claims this page will make. Arthritis, anxiety, and pain are medical questions. A hemp oil page cannot diagnose them or rank a cure.

If the question is whether CBD for cats anxiety has a proven treatment effect, the honest answer on this page is that we are not citing a feline clinical trial that settles it. The CBD oil for dogs checklist takes the same stance for dogs: start with the veterinarian, then read the label.

Human cannabis from a licensed shop is a different product. Minnesota adults use the dispensary directory for their own purchases. Do not give a person edible, drink, or flower to a cat. Minnesota Statutes section 342.09 is the adult possession and home-grow statute. It does not set a cat dose.

Gabapentin or CBD for cats?

Ask your veterinarian. Gabapentin is a prescription drug that a veterinarian decides on, and CBD pet products are not FDA approved for animals, so this page cannot compare them. Do not start, stop, or swap a prescribed medication on the strength of a retailer page, and tell the veterinarian about any CBD product you give. The FDA's pet-cannabis answer also points owners to a veterinarian for appropriate treatment options.

How it is given Seller says add it to food or a treat A treat is a different serving than a drop Not for cats

The 600 mg figure on the treat is the seller's package total, checked on the cat collection page on October 20, 2026. It is not a dose per piece. We did not verify a per-treat milligram count, so this page does not invent one.

Retailer weight chart for cat CBD oil. Five pounds or less is 1 mg, 5 to 10 pounds is 2 to 3 mg, 10 to 15 pounds is 3 to 4 mg, and 15 to 20 pounds is 4 to 6 mg. Not a veterinary dose.

Source: Diamond CBD, CBD for cats page, weight rows as published. Accessed October 20, 2026. Unit: milligrams of CBD in the retailer's chart, not a veterinary prescription. A 10 lb cat sits on the line between the 5 to 10 lb row and the 10 to 15 lb row.

Is it safe to give CBD oil to my cat?

The FDA says it cannot ensure the safety or effectiveness of cannabis products marketed for pets, so ask your veterinarian before you give any.

The FDA's cannabis FAQ says the agency cannot ensure the safety or effectiveness of cannabis-derived products marketed for pets, and it points people to a veterinarian. That is the standard this page uses. Source: FDA regulation of cannabis and cannabis-derived products, including CBD, question 24, the same page the dog guide cites, accessed again for this article on October 20, 2026.

"Safe" on a product page is marketing. MediPets pages say the oils are made for cats and dogs and describe them as THC-free. We will not repeat "safe" or "zero THC" as a finding. A certificate of analysis can report no detectable THC for the batch it covers. The next batch needs its own report. Detection limits differ by lab. "No detectable THC" means the lab did not measure THC above its limit. It does not prove the number zero.

The cat oil ingredients listed on the product page are hemp extract, vegetable glycerin, and propylene glycol. If your veterinarian has already told you to avoid one of those carriers, the ingredient list matters more than the CBD milligram number. Confirm the list on the bottle you receive. Sellers edit pages.

How to read a 90 mg bottle

A front label that says 90 mg is the whole bottle, not a serving, unless the label says otherwise. The product page we checked says 30 ml, 600 drops, and 0.15 mg of CBD isolate per drop. The arithmetic agrees: 90 divided by 600 is 0.15. That is label math. It is not a recommendation to give any number of drops.

The same math is on the dog oil guide: divide total CBD by volume. A dog's 600 mg bottle is not this cat bottle. The MediPets strength guide is also built for dogs. Use it to see how the brand scales dog oils. Do not copy a dog row onto a cat.

Diamond says its pet oils use CBD isolate, which is cannabidiol with the other plant compounds removed in manufacturing. Isolate is the reason a shopper looking for no detectable THC starts there instead of a full spectrum oil. Full spectrum hemp products can carry THC. This page does not link a full spectrum cat oil. The Diamond CBD buyer hub is the wider catalog, and it includes other wedges. Stay on the pet links in this article if the shopper is a cat.

How much CBD for a 10 pound cat?

Diamond's cat page publishes this chart:

  • 5 pounds or less: 1 mg
  • 5 to 10 pounds: 2 to 3 mg
  • 10 to 15 pounds: 3 to 4 mg
  • 15 to 20 pounds: 4 to 6 mg

A 10 pound cat is the top of the second row and the bottom of the third. The page also says the retailer does not recommend more than 0.5 mg per pound of body weight. For a 10 pound cat, 0.5 mg per pound is 5 mg, which is above both of those rows. The chart and the ceiling do not pick a single number. That is one more reason not to treat the chart as a dose.

If you only wanted the drop math, 0.15 mg per drop means 2 mg is about 13 drops and 3 mg is about 20 drops. We are not telling you to use 13 or 20 drops. We are showing why "90 mg" and "2 mg" are different units. Your veterinarian can reject the whole chart.

CBD oil for cats dosage, as a search, deserves that distinction. The bottle total, the per-drop figure, and a blog chart are three different things. Match the certificate of analysis to the lot on the bottle before you believe any of them. The FDA has also warned that some CBD products do not contain the labeled amount. Source: FDA consumer update on cannabis products, accessed October 20, 2026.

Isolate versus full spectrum for cats

Isolate versus full spectrum is the other People Also Ask question. For cats, Diamond's own pet copy says its pet products are isolate, not a mix of cannabinoids. Full spectrum oil is a human-product category on other Diamond pages, and those pages say it can contain up to 0.3 percent THC. That is a poor fit for a cat, for a drug test in the household, and for the federal container limit covered in can CBD make you fail a drug test.

Broad spectrum is the middle label: other plant compounds with THC reduced. Diamond's own spectrum explainer says trace THC may still be present. This cat guide does not link a broad spectrum pet oil because the cat product we verified is the isolate oil. If a future bottle says broad spectrum, read the batch report rather than the adjective.

CBD treats for cats

The cat collection page lists a tartar-control treat at 600 mg per package next to the 90 mg oil. Treats and oil are not interchangeable. A package total of 600 mg can be a little CBD spread across many pieces, or a lot in each piece. The page we saw did not give a per-piece figure we are willing to repeat. Open the treat label.

Treats are easier for some cats and useless for others. That is a feeding problem, not a medical benefit. If the cat will not eat the treat, you do not have a backup dose. You have a cat that refused a treat.

The oil page says to put the oil on food. It also lists a 100-day "Make It Right" policy. Read that as a return policy. A refund does not show that the oil helped the cat.

What are the side effects of CBD for cats?

We are not citing a feline CBD side-effect list, and this page will not invent one. The FDA describes signs that can follow an adverse cannabis exposure in a pet: lethargy, heavy drooling, vomiting, agitation, tremors, and convulsions. Those signs are a reason to call a veterinarian or an animal poison control service, not a reason to wait for a blog to rank the symptom.

THC products are the higher risk in a Minnesota house. A dispensary edible, a hemp drink, or a dropped gummy is not a cat treat. Keep them stored the way you keep any product a pet should not eat. The cream guide is about human topicals. A human roll-on is not a cat product either. The roll-on versus cream guide stays on human skin products.

If a cat might have swallowed THC, do not try to "balance" it with CBD oil. Call the clinic.

The FDA also says adverse events from accidental ingestion of cannabis by pets are well documented in the scientific literature. Source: FDA question 24, accessed October 20, 2026.

The shopping links use /api/go/diamond-cbd and a dest path. That is the Hub's FlexOffers redirect. It records the click and sends you to Diamond. The dest paths we use here are the 90 mg cat oil and the cat collection, both checked as live URLs on October 20, 2026.

The oil page says most orders ship within 24 hours, arrive in 3 to 5 days after they leave the warehouse, and ship free at $99 except Hawaii and Alaska. It also says delivery restrictions vary by state. Confirm Minnesota before you pay. We are not quoting a price. The page we checked did not present a single stable price in the snippet we are willing to print, and prices move.

Shop the 90 mg MediPets cat oil. Open the cat collection. The pet category also lists dog products. Do not add a dog chew to a cat order because the milligrams look familiar.

Dog owners who landed here by mistake should use the CBD dog treats guide. The flavors and strengths on that page are not cat products.

A cbdMD cat oil, checked the same day

cbdMD's cat oil is a different bottle from MediPets. The product page checked on October 20, 2026 calls it a broad spectrum CBD cat oil tincture and uses the Paw CBD name. The variant picker showed catnip, 300 mg, listed at $29.99 and marked available. The marketing copy still says two concentrations and natural or catnip. This page reports both and does not invent the missing variant.

Ingredients on that page are hemp extract (CBD, CBG, and CBN), MCT oil, and natural flavor. The seller's suggested amount is 1 mL. Melatonin is not listed. The page uses the seller's THC-free asterisk, which cbdMD defines as below the level of detection using validated scientific methods. It also prints a 0.3% delta-9 dry-weight warning. Those are not a count of none, and they are not the December 11, 2026 federal line of 0.4 mg total THC per container. Read the federal hemp changes guide and the lot certificate before you treat the asterisk as a promise.

cbdMD cat oil, 300 mg catnip. The Paw CBD guide covers the dog oil, calming oil, and chews on the same brand. Do not give the dog calming oil to a cat. That bottle lists melatonin and does not state a milligram amount. This page is not veterinary advice. Ask a veterinarian who has seen the cat.

A short checklist

  1. Ask a veterinarian who has seen the cat.
  2. Confirm the product is the cat oil, not a dog chew or a human gummy.
  3. Read total milligrams, milliliters, and milligrams per drop.
  4. Match the certificate of analysis to the lot, including the THC line. Look for no detectable THC.
  5. Ignore disease claims on the seller's page. The FDA has not approved this use.
  6. Store human cannabis where the cat cannot reach it.
  7. Confirm the seller ships to Minnesota.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should a Minnesota cat owner check on a CBD oil label first?

Check the species, the total CBD, the amount per drop, the lot number, and the THC line on the matching certificate of analysis. Then ask a veterinarian. Minnesota dispensary rules in section 342.09 do not create a cat dose.

Where does a 10 pound cat fall on Diamond's published chart?

Diamond's cat page puts 5 to 10 pounds at 2 to 3 mg and 10 to 15 pounds at 3 to 4 mg. A 10 pound cat is on that boundary. The same page says the retailer does not recommend more than 0.5 mg per pound. This guide does not pick one of those numbers for your cat.

What should the certificate of analysis for a cat oil show?

The batch or lot number that matches your bottle, the CBD amount, the lab name and test date, and the THC result. A result of no detectable THC covers one batch only. The cbdMD review explains why that phrase is not a promise of zero.

Are MediPets dog strengths safe to scale down for a cat?

No. The MediPets strength guide is a dog page. Cat oil on the page we checked is a separate 90 mg, 30 ml bottle. Use the cat label, not a dog row.

The Diamond CBD buyer hub explains how the Hub tags those links. Human topicals are on the CBD cream guide. Drug-test questions about household CBD belong on can CBD make you fail a drug test. None of those pages replace a veterinarian.

Not sure whether your condition may qualify?
